Thumb on the front button
An open bin invites a scoop, a spill and a lid left off the counter. Press the button here and the dispenser meters grain out of the bottom while the chamber above stays shut. Your hands never go into the rice, which is half of what keeps it clean.

A compartment built into the dispenser takes whatever you trust: a desiccant pack, star anise, bay leaves. Those are the old pantry defenses, kept beside the grain instead of buried somewhere in the middle of it. Refresh the contents when the smell fades.
