A window instead of a guess
The clear strip on the front shows the surplus at a glance, so you know whether to buy rice on the way home before you touch the lid. Opening a sealed bin to check the level is how humidity gets in; the window makes that trip unnecessary most weeks.

Pieces that come out for washing
Components are removable, so the fresh-keeping slot, the lid and the dispensing parts can be taken off and washed properly rather than wiped around. The slot itself holds star anise against pests, and it is easiest to reload while the chamber is empty anyway.
Where it lives
Rectangular and compact, which means it fits the places a sack does not: inside a cabinet, on a pantry shelf, along the back of a counter. Rice, millet, oats, any daily cereal. The integrated sealing ring and the PP body keep dust and damp out of the chamber between fills.
