Garlic and star anise up top
The box at the top of the lid exists for natural deterrents. A few cloves of garlic or a couple of star anise go in and stay in the sealed air with the rice, no chemicals and nothing in contact with the grain. Reload it on the same schedule as the chamber.

Green tells two bins apart
Running more than one dispenser gets common once the first proves itself, and color is the fastest label available. Green for the brown rice, white for the jasmine, and you reach for the right one half asleep without reading anything at all.

Grain comes out, hands stay out
The sloped slide inside carries rice to the outlet under its own weight, so nothing gets scooped by hand or by a cup dipped into the chamber. Fewer hands in the grain means less of what turns a good sack stale before you reach the bottom of it.
