Most closets waste the column of air under the hanging shirts. This organizer claims it: three fabric tiers joined by metal connectors, hung from the rod on steel S-hooks, open at the slanted front so you can see what is on every level. Sweaters, handbags, folded towels, the gym kit. When the season turns and you want the rod back, the bins fold flat.

Two steel hooks go over a standard closet rod or a garment rack and the unit hangs. Metal connectors lock the three tiers into one column, so the stack stays square instead of swinging apart when you pull a sweater out of the middle shelf.
The opening is wide and angled down, so you look into each tier from standing height rather than guessing at a dark cube. Handbags come out upright. Folded knits stay folded, because you are not digging under a flap to reach the one at the bottom.
Inside each tier the dividers attach with hook-and-loop and peel off to a new position in seconds. Split a shelf in two for T-shirts on one side and socks on the other, or leave a tier undivided for a stack of towels. Nothing was fixed at the factory.
Bedroom closets, dorm rooms, nurseries, a rail in a spare room. The bottom and side panels are thickened and the straps are reinforced webbing, which is what keeps a loaded tier from folding in on itself. The three bins also separate: run them one at a time on a wardrobe shelf or in a cubby, then fold them flat when the job is over.
