Diatomite that folds
The material is diatomaceous earth, which takes water off wet skin and hands it back to the air faster than fabric manages. Folding is what makes it portable. Pack it for a trip, fold it away when the guests leave, or move it from the shower to the sink depending on the day.

The grip pad underneath
A separate grip pad ships with the mat and goes between it and the floor. Tile, marble, sealed wood and stone are all smooth enough that a dry mat will travel when a wet foot lands on it at an angle. The pad is the difference between a drying surface and a skid.

Sandpaper, not detergent
Care is a rinse or a wipe, then air drying somewhere ventilated. When the surface starts taking water more slowly, the fix is fine sandpaper: a light pass reopens the face. That is maintenance in the woodworking sense, which almost no bathroom product asks of you.
Where it lives
Outside the shower, next to the tub, in front of the sink or under the edge of a vanity. It also works as a drying station for small household items that would otherwise leave rings on a counter. Compact bathrooms are the natural home, since the mat folds out of the way when the room needs its floor back.
